Joe Girardi Visit Brunswick Upper School

Joe Girardi, Yankees Manager and a Brunswick father visited Brunswick's Upper School on Thursday, January 5, 2011. Among his words of wisdom to the students:

"Academics were always first [in my family]."

"Struggle. You need to work hard every day in your life."

"John Wooden, one of the greatest coaches once said, 'Make each day your masterpiece.'"

"Don't waste today."

"Invest in your relationships."

"You're gonna find that one day you'll put your heart & soul in something and it may not work out. But you learn in that process."

"Rookies are toughest to manage. Hardest is getting them to believe in themselves."
